Welcome to Career and Technical Education
Our Mission: Career and Technical Education will engage Arizona learners in relevant experiences leading to purposeful and economically viable careers.
Our Vision: Develop Arizona's competitive workforce through the power of Career and Technical Education.
Career and Technical Education is about doing, creating and innovating. Students in our programs take what they learn and APPLY it to something tangible, like building robots, constructing chicken coops and creating newsletters and flyers. Every program is hands on and provides students current, high demand foundational, technical and professional knowledge and skills, as well as core academic knowledge. Each CTE program leads to college and career pathways, giving students the opportunity to earn industry certifications and dual enrollment credits. We not only teach kids the technical skills for a career, but the professional skills that will help them keep the job. Each program has its own Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) which is regarded as an integral part of Career and Technical Education. CTSOs play an important part in preparing young people to become productive citizens and to assume roles of leadership in their communities. These organizations provide a unique program of career and leadership development, motivation, and recognition for secondary students in Career and Technical Education programs.
With an emphasis on real world and real-life skills, Career and Technical Education at San Carlos High School will prepare students for their next academic and career steps.
