Hospitality Management

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Hospitality Management program prepares students for employment in positions that provide customer-focused services in such facilities as hotels, resorts, convention centers, national parks, travel agencies and cruise lines. A student completing this program will possess the knowledge and skills associated with reservations and front desk operations, meeting and banquet room support services, food and beverage support services, housekeeping, laundry operations, supervisory functions, and environmental functions. Throughout the Hospitality Management instructional program, students will develop advanced employability skills including critical and conceptual thinking, communications, applied academics and technology.
The Hospitality Management instructional program prepares students for entry-level employment, further training, and/or post-secondary education for these and other occupations: Porter, Front Desk Clerk, Room Attendant, and Food and Beverage Service.
INDUSTRY CREDENTIALS: The following industry credentials have been approved for the A-F CCRI and may be appropriate for the Hospitality Management instructional program:
- Certified Front Desk Representative (CFDR)
- Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP®)
- Certified Hospitality and Tourism Management Professional (CHTMP)
- Certified Restaurant Server (CRS)
- NAFTrack Certification
- National ProStart Certificate of Achievement (COA)
- ServSafe® Food Protection Manager
