NICHOLAS FERRO

I am entering my 9th year working for the San Carlos Unified School District.  I started my career in San Carlos as a School Counselor before becoming an Associate Principal.  I am now entering my 5th year as the Principal at Rice Intermediate.  This is home, and we have great things happening in our school.

This past year we moved out of failing status for the first time in our school’s existence.  We have a lot of work to do, but I can promise you that we are up for the challenge.  We have a systematic plan in place to continue on our journey to becoming a high performing school.

I am proud to announce that we are the first indigenous school to hold the title of a “Promising Practices School”.  This is a testament to our staff and the hard work we have put in day in and day out for our children.  Promising Practices Schools have displayed clear evidence of improved student learning over at least two years. 

We are the Home of the Lil’ Braves!  I believe this is the place for your child to receive the best education possible.  Thank you and let’s get ready for another great year of growth!
